The NSW GBOTA is pleased to have Gunnedah announced today as receiving 13 TAB dates for 2017/18.

The announcement made by GRNSW follows months of work by Club staff and volunteers to undertake a range of works to enhance the venue.

Chairman Geoff Rose said it was a fantastic result for all participants, in particular those based in the State's Far North West.

"We have been for some time working towards TAB status," Rose said.

"Today's announcement is recognition of the work undertaken in the region by Club staff and the critical number of volunteers which have ensured this result was possible.

"The NSW GBOTA commenced working towards this outcome when we undertook the track conversion to sand in 2015," Rose said.

"By the time we commence TAB racing in the 2017/18 season we will have a new running rail, electric lure motor, improved kennel facilities and separated veterinary and swab collection areas," Rose added.

Gunnedah received TAB status after successfully completing the Expression of Interest process which commenced in early 2016.  The EOI process, which was open to all clubs in the region, covered a range of areas including Governance, Track safety and preparation, venue facilities, business and marketing plans.

The NSW GBOTA is currently working with GRNSW on the intended schedule for racing in 2017/18, with the 13 TAB dates to be supported by 15 Non-TAB dates.

Further information will be supplied in coming weeks on race date information and programming
